Psychologist : Ms. Chua Kah Lin Msc. Clinical Psychology

Ms. Kah Lin Chua

Ms Chua Kah Lin have been trained in several therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). Guided by these approaches, she have worked many years with clients who suffer with the following conditions:

  • Anxiety, fears, phobias
  • Depression, low mood
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Work/performance related stresses
  • Loss and bereavement
  • Deep rooted and past traumatic experiences
  • Parenting issues
  • Coping with chronic health conditions
  • Life transition and adjustment difficulties

Through assessment and detailed information gathering, an intervention plan will be embarked on which includes some, if not all, of the following:

  • Change up unhelpful behaviour patterns
  • Address past traumas that are impacting current relationships and functioning
  • Cope differently with distressing and uncomfortable emotions and thoughts that show up
  • Gain deeper understanding of the origin of presenting problems which would lead to a more targeted intervention plan
  • Develop greater awareness of unhelpful thoughts and feelings
  • Experiential work that offers the client alternative viewpoints
  • Build and develop existing strengths and resources to face current perceived threats and problems

The therapeutic relationship will be one that abides by the SPS Code of Ethics. Ms. Chua aims to create a safe, nonjudgemental and compassionate space within which to explore often painful thoughts and emotions and to experiment with different ways of relating to the world and the self. Together, she will explore with the client, where some of the resistances and obstacles lie, leading to oftentimes rigid and counterproductive patterns.

It will be a space where emphasis is placed on being respectful, empowering and collaborative in order to allow the client to live a more enriching and meaningful life.

Ms. Chua is a Full member of the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) and is registered with the Singapore Register of Psychologists.
