Anxiety treatmentSeveral counselling techniques used to treat anxiety & depression include, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), biofeedback, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and journaling.

CBT is a short-term, goal-oriented psychotherapy treatment that takes a hands-on, practical approach to problem-solving. Its goal is to change patterns of thinking or behaviour that underlie people's difficulties, and so change the way they feel. Another technique is biofeedback which involves training people to improve their health by controlling certain bodily processes that happen involuntarily, such as heart rate, blood pressure, muscle tension, and skin temperature.

Additionally, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR is a set of standardized protocols that incorporates elements from many different treatment approaches. To date, EMDR therapy has helped millions of people of all ages relieve many types of psychological stress.
